14-Year-Old Boy Beheaded in Olorisaoko Community, Ibadan
An incident occurred in Ibadan where a 14-year-old boy was beheaded. According to sources, it took place in the Olorisaoko community, Akinyele Local Government Area. The boy, identified as Malik Kareem, was killed on Saturday. This incident has left the entire community in shock, worry, fear, and confusion.
According to The PUNCH, a major Nigerian news outlet, Malik had recently finished his Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), also known as the West African Examination Council (WAEC) exams, at Iyana Community Grammar School, Olode, Moniya, Ibadan.
It was reported that Malik and three of his male friends had met with a Muslim cleric for rituals to make money. Unknown to Malik, his friends had already planned to use him for the sacrifice.
A community member stated, “I was at home when one of my brothers rushed in to inform me of the tragic event. We hurried to the scene and found Malik’s lifeless body without a head in the cleric’s house. The cleric had already fled, and the victim’s head had been cremated.”
The source added that the other boys intended to use Malik’s body parts to prepare meals, so they strangled him before beheading him.
After the discovery, several individuals, identified as youths, expressed their anger by setting the cleric’s house ablaze.
The incident has been confirmed by the state police, who have begun an investigation.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, stated, “Investigations have commenced on the incident, and you will be updated accordingly.”
