Gbenga Adeyinka Endorses President Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s Best Hope
Gbenga Adeyinka, a veteran comedian and committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu, asserting that Tinubu is the right person to lead Nigeria toward prosperity. In a recent appearance on the “Our 2 Kobo Podcast,” Adeyinka highlighted Tinubu’s achievements as the former governor of Lagos State, pointing to them as clear evidence of his ability to address Nigeria’s pressing economic challenges.
During the podcast, Adeyinka shared that his belief in Tinubu’s capability is so strong that he actively campaigned for him, confident that the president has what it takes to solve the country’s issues. He cautioned that if Tinubu, with all his experience and knowledge, cannot resolve Nigeria’s problems, the nation could be facing even deeper trouble.
The comedian went on to commend specific policies of Tinubu’s administration, including the removal of fuel subsidies and efforts to grant autonomy to local governments. However, he also voiced concerns about the government’s fiscal responsibility, calling for more careful management of resources. Adeyinka urged Nigerians to be patient, suggesting that Tinubu should be given at least two more years to implement his plans, as the economic challenges facing Nigeria are not isolated but part of a broader global context.
Adeyinka also reflected on his past political engagements, revealing that he had once supported former President Muhammadu Buhari, under the belief that Buhari’s military experience would bring positive changes. However, Adeyinka expressed disappointment, describing Buhari as someone who ultimately “doesn’t know anything.”

In his critique of the current government, Adeyinka specifically criticized the purchase of luxury cars for National Assembly members, viewing it as an unnecessary display of excess in a time of widespread suffering. He also emphasized the significance of local government reform, arguing that empowering local governments is essential for the country’s overall development.
Looking forward, Adeyinka advocated for constitutional reforms and encouraged the involvement of younger politicians in the legislative process to drive meaningful change. Despite the challenges, he remained optimistic that with patience and support, Tinubu’s financial expertise could lead Nigeria out of its current difficulties, which are not unique to the country but part of a global phenomenon.
