Palestinian Toddler Killed in Jenin During IDF Operation
The Palestinian Authority health ministry has reported the tragic death of a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, Layla al-Khatib, in the West Bank city of Jenin. The child was reportedly killed by Israeli gunfire during an IDF operation.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have acknowledged the incident and are currently investigating the circumstances.

According to the IDF, troops were conducting an operation in the village of ash-Shuhada when they encountered armed gunmen holed up in a building. The soldiers employed a “pressure cooker” tactic, gradually increasing the volume of fire to compel the suspects to surrender.

During the operation, a young child was injured. Palestinian medics were immediately called to the scene and evacuated the two-and-a-half-year-old girl along with her lightly injured mother. Tragically, the child succumbed to her injuries.
The IDF has expressed its condolences and is conducting a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the exact sequence of events.
