Subsidized Food Initiative to Benefit Grassroots in Ogun State
Abeokuta, Ogun State, is to address the ongoing economic challenges, the federal government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has introduced the sale of 50kg bags of rice at a price of ₦40,000 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Governor Dapo Abiodun initiated the program during a ceremony held at the Arcade Ground on Friday, October 11.
Governor Abiodun also announced plans to distribute other subsidized food items across the 20 local government areas in the near future.
Subsidized Food Initiative to Benefit Grassroots in Ogun State
According to reports from The Punch, Abiodun mentioned that essential food products like garri, rice, and beans will be available at reduced prices. He further explained that the initiative will soon be extended to every local government, ensuring it reaches communities at all levels.
The governor emphasized that this program will benefit a wide range of people, including civil servants, artisans, students, as well as traditional and religious groups. He assured that a detailed system is in place to guarantee a fair and extensive distribution of these food items.
