USA and UK Confirmed as Hosts for 2031 and 2035 Women’s World Cups

USA to Host 2031 Women’s World Cup
The United States, a four-time Women’s World Cup champion, has submitted the sole bid for the 2031 tournament. If finalized, this will mark the third time the U.S. has hosted the event, further solidifying its position as a dominant force in women’s football. FIFA President Gianni Infantino also hinted that other CONCACAF nations might be involved in the hosting process, potentially making it a regional effort.
UK Secures 2035 Women’s World Cup Bid
For the 2035 edition, the United Kingdom—comprising England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland—has emerged as the only valid bidder. The bid builds on England’s strong performance in the 2023 World Cup, where they reached the final. As part of the home nations, these countries are also recognized as Team GB in the Olympics, further strengthening their footballing reputation.
FIFA’s Statement on the Bidding Process
Speaking at a UEFA congress, Infantino confirmed the bids, stating: “Today I can confirm that we received one bid for 2031 and one valid bid for 2035. The 2031 bid is from the United States of America, with the possibility of other CONCACAF members joining, and the 2035 bid is from Europe’s home nations.”
