Yemisi Ogunleye, a Nigerian-born athlete who was raised in Germany and represents Germany, won a gold medal for her outstanding performance at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

She made history with a throw of 20.00 meters in the final stage, securing a place of honor.

Ogunleye surpassed her rival, Maddison-Lee Wesche from New Zealand, who recorded a throw of 19.86 meters and earned the silver medal. Another competitor, Song Jiayuan from China, achieved a throw of 19.32 meters and won the bronze medal.

Additionally, Ogunleye has earned other medals in previous competitions, including a silver at the 2023 World Indoor Championships and a bronze at the European Championships in Rome in June.
